Another beautiful day in Thunder Bay, but not just any day. The start of the World Cup (which is broadly advertised on billboards in town). In the morning the Japanese beat the Mexicans, which only just arrived yesterday night due to flight delays. After scouting this game with some of the coaches, it was our turn to play. We were matched against a very tough opponent in team USA in our first round game.
A very factual summary of the game has been published on the website of the ‘Dutch baseball hangout’ and can be found through this link.
The USA team published their thought on the game here including interviews with their coaches and players.
A though but scheduled loss against the defending U18 World Champs, tomorrow a new game. Unfortunately on the field we play most of our matches, live television is not provided. This is due to television rights and sponsorship mainly from Asia (Japan). Our game against Japan therefore, will be played on the main field where live (Youtube) feed is available.
